Leadership Talks started with a pretty simple idea: what if we talked about leadership in a way that actually felt human, instead of another slide deck with "10 rules for becoming a better leader"?

So instead of a lecture, we built it around conversation. Three panelists, a facilitator, and a topic worth digging into. People with different backgrounds and experiences who actually have something real to say, not a script to get through.

Honestly, the audience is the part that matters most. We never wanted people to just sit and listen. The whole point is for them to jump in. Ask hard questions, push back, share what happened to them, and turn it into an actual discussion instead of a Q&A at the end.

The topics we pick are the stuff leaders deal with constantly: hard decisions, motivation, feedback that actually lands, building trust, working with different personalities, sitting with uncertainty. Situations where there's rarely one clean answer.

We've been doing this every month for over three years now, inside Progress. It started as something small and internal, and it turned into a space people actually show up for. A place to swap perspectives and talk about leadership without worrying about titles or org charts.

At some point we also started opening it up. Running sessions for a wider audience so the conversation could go beyond the company too.

Looking back, Leadership Talks turned into something bigger than a recurring event for me. It became a community built on curiosity and openness, and on the idea that some of the best leadership lessons come from real moments, including the ones that went sideways.

Because leadership isn't something you learn only from books, courses, or slides.

Most of the time, it starts with one good question and an honest conversation.
